1. We had an impromptu covid-friendly get together on Monday this week and I couldn’t recommend it more. The one benefit of this crazy time is that in some respect, every day feels like the weekend. So, why even bother saving the “parties” for the actual weekend? Anything goes these days…
  2. At said “party,” I was introduced to “my cookie dealer” cookies, and oh my God… I can’t even explain to you how freakin’ delicious they were! They apparently have a cult following and there is a method to the madness of trying to order them. But I can tell you that they are 100% worth it! We are having them again this weekend (thank you, MT!!!) and I will be +100 pounds in no time.
  3. Ryan and I are genuinely considering biting the bullet and buying a Peloton. I know it seems totally crazy. But! I was paying for a gym membership almost exclusively to use this bike, and don’t see myself setting foot in a gym any time soon. Plus, once we pay it off we’d own it (obviously) so it seems almost kind of logical? It’s a huge purchase but also something that we’d definitely benefit from… If we can figure out where to put it in our apartment I really think we might do it!
  4. This tweet sent me into a fit of laughter.
  5. Mom and I ventured out to Costco this week and it felt so GOOD to be out in a store. Even in a mask. Even while hesitating before touching anything. Even with the plexiglass everywhere and all the “limit one” rules. I hadn’t been inside a store since March until last week, so it really felt like shopping on another planet. And even with all the weirdness, it still brought some semblance of normalcy that I hadn’t realized I needed. I know we all keep saying this, but, what weird times we’re living in? It’s impossible not to think about.
  6. I’m sorry, but you have to be an absolute LUNATIC to go to Disney World right now. I cannot even wrap my head around the fact that enough people thought that opening Disney World in FLORIDA (!) a hot spot (!) was a good enough idea that it’s actually happening!!! Just absolutely mind-boggling.
  7. In other exciting news we got a joint bank account this week! This is something we talked about when we first moved in together, but then got in a routine of relying on Venmo for most things and it fell by the wayside. We took the plunge this week and did it, and it feels almost as official as the ring does! 😂
  8. And in a similar vein – I am working on writing up a post about our whole engagement day! I planned for it to be the post for this past week, but I want to make sure to get it right and not rush it. So I pushed it off one more week and hopefully I can get it together and post it on Wednesday-ish this coming week. I know some of you (Nana 😇) are chomping at the bit for it, so just sit tight a few more days – I promise it’s coming.
  9. Craft beer lovers!!! Our Brooklyn favorite, Other Half Brewing, introduced a beer collaboration in March in an effort to raise money for those in the hospitality industry affected by COVID-19. This week they posted on Instagram that over 850 breweries participated and made their version of “All Together” and raised over $1 million for the cause. And this is the total with only 275 of the 850+ reporting so far! Just reading about it makes my heart all warm and fuzzy, and craving a cold one. It looks like Other Half is brewing one more batch of this specific beer if you want to try and get your hands on it.
  10. Lastly, I have been toying with the idea of starting to work on some recipes to post here. Mostly just simple things like cocktails and maybe some healthy-ish lunches/snacks for now while I dip my toes into testing recipes (?) This sounds professional, but trust me, it won’t be at all. Is this something you would be interested in?! And if yes, is there anything specific you want to see? Let me know!!

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend and getting some sun! Happy Sunday! 🌞

with love, jak
