HhhhhhIIIIIIiiiiii! Who’s missed waking up to a Sunday morning email? Thinking about bringing back Sunday Morning Musings in a somewhat more flexible capacity… sharing some more photos, a little more nonsense. Going to try it out for a bit and leave some wiggle room for changes and updates, and just generally do what feels GOOD! Feel free to leave feedback, if you’ve got it πŸ€—

  1. I, along with the rest of the world, cannot seem to help myself when it comes to New Years Resolutions. I make ’em every year and consider it a win if I make it to March with any still intact. Even if they’re hanging by a thread. This year is no different and while I won’t bore you with the full list, I do think it would be fun to share some here!
    1. Walk for 30 minutes everyday, ideally first thing in the morning.
    2. Reach 10K minutes on Peloton – any and all classes count. Their Annual Challenge is sooo motivating for me.
    3. Read 40 books – I lowered my goal from last year because my loving fiancΓ©, who watches every single year as I panic read on NYE, reminded me we are going to have a very busy year and to be kind to myself. (ty RH, ily)
    4. Keep working the crosswords – I’d love to be able to finish a Wednesday puzzle by the end of the year. Perhaps a lofty goal, but definitely something to work towards.
    5. Shoot one roll of film every month – I haven’t decided if I want to develop these as I go or hoard them all for the end of the year like a little time capsule, but think I’ll appreciate this one a lot either way.
    6. Write more, plain and simple. Here and elsewhere.
    7. Less scrolling in bed – it only keeps me from getting my day started earlier and getting more sleep. Vowing to be a couch-scroller in 2022. Hoping that this one leads to less scrolling altogether, but we shall see. (Note: I actually enabled the Screen Time feature on my iPhone for social media and I feel like it’s been helping already! Though, I’ll definitely share an update in the next couple of weeks on that.)
  2. I feel like we haven’t seen the sun in months. Anyone else?! December/January has been so gloomy and grey so far.. Between that and the cold I am already feeling ready for spring and some sunshine. Would even settle for a sun-shower at this point. Though, I have to say the little snow storm we got this week made me very happy. Brooklyn with a fresh dusting of snow is just the prettiest.
  3. We got the floors in the house refinished this week! Feels like one of the most adult things I’ve ever done LOL but we are so so so excited. Every little thing we do in the house makes us just a bit more ready for our move and it’s finally starting to feel GOOD. A fresh coat of paint and some TLC for the 60+ year old hardwoods really made all the difference. And if you’re ever in the market for a floor guy, ours is highly, highly recommended (by us!)
  4. Anyone else playing Wordle? I read the article in the New York Times this week and now I can’t get enough. I love any word game, but something about this one is extra satisfying. And the story behind it is just the sweetest!!!

Are you guys resolution people? Would love to hear what you’re all working toward this year!
