sunday morning musings (034)
- I’m in a writing slump, if you haven’t noticed. SMH! But I am trying to get back on track with my two weekly posts very, very soon. Bear with me!! I have been a busy, busy bee the last few weeks.
- Christmas is already taking over my whole entire brain. I am totally consumed with all the shopping/wrapping/baking I have to do. Are you in full-blown Christmas mode or holding out for a few more weeks?
- I am obviously ready for it and can’t stop thinking about putting up our Christmas tree ASAP once we are back in our apartment next weekend. It will definitely be the earliest we’ve gotten one, but our apartment is THE coziest once we’re all decorated for Christmas, and I for one, can certainly use the extra cheer this year.
- And speaking of trees… real or fake? I have always been a real tree gal because I love the smell. This was the very first year i thought maybe… just maybe we should get a fake one so we could have it up longer. But I stand firm, it’s real tree or bust for me.
- Did you snag anything for yourself this Black Friday/Cyber Monday? I fiiiiiiinally bit the bullet and ordered Brooklinen sheets and I cannot WAIT to try them out. It’s something I’ve been “thinking about” for the better part of two years and totally caved at the 20% off. I’m sure you’ll be hearing about them once they arrive!
- This TikTok trend is absolutely killing me. Too relatable.
- Who else watched the season finale of The Undoing this week?!!?! My heart was RACING during the last 15 minutes, I couldn’t even handle it. Overall though, I thought it was great! I haven’t gotten sucked into a show like that in a while. Highly recommend if you haven’t watched it.
- PSA that Jingle Jangle is back at Trader Joe’s and if you haven’t already gotten some, don’t, because you’ll eat the entire thing in a few days like I did. Save yourself!!!
- While doing some research to find the perfect parker house rolls to make for Thanksgiving last week, I came across these sour cream and chive fantails on smitten kitchen and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them since. Definitely gonna have to make them happen. And soon!
- Lastly, I just cannot believe that it’s actually December. I know it’s all any of us can talk about, but this year has been SUCH a blur it’s hard to believe that it’s coming to an end (somehow?!!?)
happy Tuesday (😣) I promise to be back on actual Sunday morning next week
until then, sending hugs

re: real vs fake trees. real trees are better for the environment!!! the more locally grown the better. so stick with the real and don’t worry about storing that plastic beast bc you are doing your part for mother earth.
Oh good to know!!! Saving the world one Christmas tree at a time
Fake tree gal here. Been up since before thanksgiving and will last into January! I do miss the smell (definitely not the mess)
Ugh the mess is always a downer… I am still finding needles from last Christmas under the radiator
Real tree !
Never disappoints!
Team fake tree (I am Laura’s daughter :))! Combine with a bunch of candles to enjoy the scent of Christmas.
Hahaha!! Candles will definitely do the trick 🙂
