1. As a football non-enthusiast, I have to say that I really enjoyed the first football Sunday of the year. It was so nice to spend the day at home, with very little to do, and of course, the snacks.
  2. Ahhh, the best frozen pizzas at Trader Joe’s. A very important article!!! Definitely going to have to pick these up to keep on hand for last minute visitors for football Sundays. A little frozen pizza never hurt anyone.
  3. Woke up Tuesday morning and the sky looked WEIRD – almost like there was a filter on it. And then Ryan mentioned he had read an article saying that the smoke from the California wildfires has traveled all the way here… to New York…?! So insane that it’s traveled across the entire country. I thought the graphic in this article was fascinating.
  4. Mom to the rescue -– she framed my birthday artwork from Ryan this week! And now we can finally hang it in our apartment. I had taken it to a framer in Brooklyn about a month and a half ago, where they were happy to frame it for me for the small price of… $800. And that was WITH a 20% discount!!! I was horrified, being that the actual artwork didn’t cost as much and brought it home, unframed. We used Frame It Easy to order the perfect size frame and the whole thing ended up being around $80 when all was said and done. Definitely check them out if you too have been hoarding things to be framed because of $$$$$$!
  5. We went to dinner with my parents this weekend for their 32nd wedding anniversary and had the loveliest time! We ate outside with little heaters on the most perfect night, had a wonderful dinner with good wine and the most delish desserts. Then sat around by the fire once we got home and it was funny because it felt like early quarantine days. Just the five of us, sitting around chatting and making the most of a quiet night. I wonder if nights like that will forever remind me of this past spring?
  6. Speaking of dinner, we had a bottle of wine opened table side with the Portuguese Hot Tong Technique. Have you guys ever seen this?! It was the first any of us had heard of it and we were absolutely blown away by it! Here’s a little video of how it’s done – highly recommend if it’s ever offered! We couldn’t stop talking about it all night, and even got to keep the bottle and cork afterwards. A special cork for a special anniversary.
  7. Looking back on my summer bucket list during this last official week of summer and I have to say, I managed to cross off a lot of it! Still trying to squeeze in those last few things, but not too bad considering what we thought this summer might look like. Did you do everything you wanted to do the last few months?! Anything you are hoping to cram in at the very end?
  8. I neeeeeeed somebody to do this. The cutest Halloween/fall decor!!! If I had a yard/porch I’d be all over it.
  9. We spent this weekend looking at (!!!!!) wedding venues (!!!!!) and I can’t even believe it. We saw 5 places this week and we have a favorite (or 2!) for sure. Think we’re going to shop around just a bit more before making an official decision, but it’s all really happening!!
  10. And just like that fall is here! The temps dropped like crazy this past week and it really does feel like ~sweater weather~ these days. It happened so fast this year! Any request for fall blog posts in the coming weeks?! I have a few really fun ideas, but would love to hear what you guys would like to see.

happy sunday, friends

with love, jak
