sunday morning musings (023)
- We saw the new Lion King at the drive-in movie last Sunday and it was the BEST! I hadn’t ever been to a drive-in, but I seriously could not have loved it more. It was the most beautiful night!!! The weather was perfect and the movie was the cutest. It made me want to see every movie at a drive-in! 10/10 experience and if you haven’t made it to one this summer, here’s your reminder to do it!
- Must have watched this video ten times already and still can’t stop cracking up over it. One minute long and guaranteed to be the highlight of your day. Here’s his Instagram if you want to fall down the same rabbit hole that I did. Worth it!!!
- Finally started Midnight Sun this week! The moment we’ve all been looking forward to since the start of my long-standing delve back into the world of Twilight. And what I have to say so far? It is DENSE. Anyone else reading it?
- Uhm they’re running out of hurricane names for this year… ALREADY… and are going to have to use the Greek alphabet. Something that’s only ever happened once before which is just absolutely insane. Just more joys of 2020…
- Thoughts on keeping outdoor dining alive during a post-pandemic world? I think YES. I have to say that eating outside at all of our favorite restaurants has been one, very small, silver lining of this year. It’s so lovely, I can’t see why it should only be temporary. The little sidewalk set-ups with string lights are plants at every restaurant are totally speaking to me and I’ll never be ready to let them go. Also, a post-pandemic world… doesn’t THAT sound like bliss…!
- Ladies and gentlemen, our queen, Taylor Swift. Tied with Whitney Houston for most weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200. Now that we’ve all had some time to soak it in in all its glory, what’s everyone’s favorites on folklore?! I am still very much loving august, but I think my new favorite is the last great american dynasty. Such. A. Masterpiece!!!
- Had dinner with the Brooklyn gals this weekend and life felt normal for a few hours. We had the best time and it was much, much needed. Followed, of course, by drinks at the GYC with the boys and a very long game of Piccolo. Isn’t it crazy that any weekend you do SOMEthing is a good weekend these days? There’s no “bad” nights anymore because any night out is a good one, and any night in is just the new normal. 2020 man, what a ride.
- Am I not old enough for this yet? Because I’m not gonna lie I’m definitely feeling it more than ever lately.
- Also, we hung stuff. ON THE WALLS! Just a few little things but it feels really good to have some stuff up. More to come, and just in time to cross it off my summer bucket list.
- Had another picnic at the park day this weekend and it was *chefs kiss* We got smart and bought lunch once we got closer to Prospect Park instead of lugging it all 1.5 miles, uphill. By the time this fall is over we’ll be professionals. We had the nicest afternoon laying in the shade, reading, wedding planning (!!!!) and chatting away.
Happy Sunday, and happy FOOTBALL Sunday to my three male readers 🏈
