1. The heat wave in NY earlier this week was next level. Of course we picked the hottest week of the year to head back to Brooklyn for a bit. And while it was worth it, we definitely paid the price for it in SWEAT. It was unreal and I had to take an ice cold shower every night this week to try and combat it.
  2. Inspired by one of my friends (ty, LC!!!) I’ve been trying to walk 4 miles every day this week and it has been really great. It’s given me so much more energy and motivation to get up and do things and has been a great excuse to spend more time outside while in Brooklyn. And it’s gotten me to a few new spots in our neighborhood! See also: I’m back on my step game with my FitBit.
  3. This is me in a nut shell. The New Yorker cartoons Instagram has been on fire lately.
  4. Ry and I started watching Succession this week and we could not be more obsessed. I rarely ever get into tv shows so quickly, but this hooked me before the first episode even ended. We have been looking forward to watching an episode every night, and it usually ends up being 2 or 3 episodes! Highly recommend if you haven’t already seen it.
  5. We’ve eaten these Greek “crunchwraps” multiple times this week and can’t get enough of them! Do yourself a favor and make these.
  6. Our WiFi was out for 6 days this week due to an “outage in the area” and I truly hadn’t been more frustrated by something in a long time. There is nothing like trying to get work done with two Alexas going off non-stop because they’ve been disconnected and reconnected and disconnected again. Spectrum is really on my shit list. So much so that I called to complain to someone for the first time in my life.
  7. This artist really nailed the whole summer 2020 vibe. Can’t get over how amazing this Instagram account is, but especially this specific piece.
  8. Now accepting donations for getting my birthday-gift-artwork from Ry framed. I finally took it into the frame shop this week and was just about ready to pay when the girl told me the total was $750+ for the frame, matte and glass. WITH a 20% discount for being a repeat customer. I nearly passed out when I finally processed what she had said. Why is framing so freakin’ expensive?! I feel bad putting an original piece of art in a cheap frame from Amazon, but that’s seriously what may have to happen! SO insane.
  9. This new Nike commercial is brilliant.
  10. I had the laziest of all Lazy Sundays this weekend and I couldn’t have been happier about it. Sometimes you just need a day of doing nothing and feeling absolutely no guilt about it. And today was just that.

Sunday evening musings this week, but we have S*ectrum to thank for that!!!

with love, jak
