1. Just want to start by saying that everyone’s love, excitement and comments on our engagement post has been the absolute BEST. I had the biggest smile on my face reading them all!!! I’m so glad that you guys loved hearing about all the details of the day and I’m so glad we have some little piece of it documented here. Also, great work everyone, Ryan is going to start working on his version very soon. Stay tuned for that!
  2. Another blog related note – if you guys ever have issues commenting on posts, please please please let me know! A bunch of you have texted me when weird things come up, and it’s so incredibly helpful (although it makes me want to cry sometimes.) Since I am the one who has to deal with all of these problems (and there are a LOT some days) it’s so good to know exactly what you guys are seeing on your end. So thank you!!! And here’s to hoping for fewer and fewer of these texts as the months go on. πŸ˜…
  3. Jeff Bezos earned $13 billion this Monday alone… can you even?!?! BILLION. Yes, billion.
  4. Technology has been hating me this week. And I really mean it. I feel like at every turn something is going wrong with the WiFi, my laptop, my phone, the blog. It’s all been such a headache and I am over it! There is seriously nothing worse than tech issues because it always feels like there’s no rhyme or reason to the problem and it’s hopeless to fix. Send help.
  5. Had a mid-week dinner with the girls this week, and while we had the best time, we had the WORST service ever. I’d never been to the place we went to and am assuming that all the covid stipulations had something to do with how terrible it was. But I just couldn’t get over it! The place was basically empty since it was Wednesday night, and it still took close to 2 hours for everyone to get their dinner. AND one plate came so much later than the rest that it had to be wrapped and brought home. How many times do you eat a a place before their service makes you cross it off your list forever?
  6. Has anyone else not recovered from Taylor Swift dropping an entire album on a WHIM this week?!? I mean I can’t say this was the highlight of 2020, but it definitely comes in at number two on my list. If you haven’t already listened to folklore, you are doing yourself a disservice!!! I am still NOT OK after this. If you HAVE listened, what are you favorite songs so far?! I have been obsessed with august, seven and mirrorball. But I also just love them all so much.
  7. Speaking of, have you read about the “teenage love triangle” of songs on the album? They’re three songs that essentially tell the same story, told from three different POV’s. Say what you want, but Taylor Swift is absolutely brilliant and I’ll never stop getting excited about it. Go listen!!!
  8. Realized that since I’ve been doing these posts for the last sixteen weeks, that’s over 1/4 of the year! Honestly cannot believe that I’m really, actually doing this and so thankful to you guys who come back here to read every week!
  9. I found @grossypelosi on Instagram early on in the pandemic and have been following his cooking stories like a crazy woman since then. This weekend he posted about this berry cornbread buckle and I cannot stop thinking about making it! Think it’s going to have to happen this week because it’s consuming all of my thoughts. Stay tuned for a full review on that when it happens. And be sure to check him out, his recipes are mostly passed down from generations of cooks and bakers in his family, and his food photography is amazing.
  10. Tonight we are headed back to Brooklyn for the better part of this next week and we could not be more excited. So looking forward to getting some things to cook, a bbq with our Brooklyn fam, and sitting outside at our favorite outdoor bar. Just willing each and every week that goes by to be more normal than the one before it. Fingers crossed!!

happy sunday, my friends! sending you all good vibes for the week ahead and reminding you all to listen to folklore asap (and let me know your favorites in the comments!!!!) 🎧

with love, JAK
