sunday morning musings (013)
- A non-engagement-related highlight from this week was checking the blog while posting last weeks Sunday Morning Musings and seeing that 18 of you came here LAST Sunday to see the weekly post that wasn’t up until Monday. My heart could have actually exploded, so thank you so very much for that. I am so happy that you guys seem to be loving this little series!
- This is old news but came up in conversation this week β did you know that the top incomer earner on Youtube in 2019 was an 8-year-old? Ryan Kaji earned 26 million dollars last year reviewing TOYS!! Can you believe that?! I just cannot wrap my head around it.
- We did sidewalk dining at our favorite Brooklyn restaurant this week and it was absolute bliss. Yes, we sat in the street behind a little barricade. Yes, I was a twinge nervous at every car that sped by us. Yes, I ate my dinner and sipped my wine while staring into the back of a moving truck being loaded with mattresses. But it was perfect. And I wouldn’t have changed our first date as an engaged couple (!!!!) for anything.
- ALSO during our one night stint in Brooklyn this week, our GYM COLLAPSED… A three story gym right in our neighborhood just crumbled and is now a massive pile of rubble. And I just cannot get over it! Counting alllllll the blessings that the gym was closed due to COVID-19. Especially since it happened around 4:30pm on Wednesday afternoon and had it been normal days, it probably would have been packed. Feeling so incredibly thankful that no one was hurt! You need to see these pictures… SO CRAZY!
- Are you guys planning any trips for this summer? Our yearly trip was cancelled, but part of me still wants go to away somewhere drivable and do something other than sit around in the house we’ve been cooped up in since March. Where are you going?! Tell me everything.
- I laughed at this way longer than I should admit.
- Had our first trip to the beach this week AND our first trip to Long Beach and I already can’t wait to go back. I’ve never been anywhere on LI that felt less like LI β in the best way. Also there is simply nothing better than a beach day during the summer. At the end of September, they always seems to be the days you remember being the most fun.
- Can’t even believe I’m saying this, but I might be ready to invest in some more masks. I have a couple that I’ve been cycling through for the last few months, but realized that I could probably use a few more. Clearly they are here to stay for a while… so may as well pick up some cute new ones! Ugh. Life in 2020, man.
- Our 4th of July was somewhat mellow this year, but still so much fun. Us ladies drank watermelon margaritas and swam in the pool while the guys played corn hole. We had the most delish barbecue, played giant Jenga and poker and saw/heard an abundance of fireworks. As far as holidays in quarantine go, I really can’t complain. π
- And lastly, this better be a joke…
Happy Sunday! Wishing you a happy and healthy week ahead π
with love, JAK
You inspired me to order two new masks this morning. Thanks, influencer Jessie!!!
Hahaha omg, I am flattered!! Sad that I am influencing people to buy masks lol
26M from a YouTube channel!!! No wonder Maisie wants her own YouTube channel! I should give her more credit!! She constantly talks to her iPad about what she is doing! And then I find her videos on my phone!!!! Lol!
Where are you getting your masks from, Iβm thinking the same!
β€οΈβ€οΈ
Why does that not surprise me at all! I could totally see Maisie being great at that π
I linked a bunch of masks in the post! I’ll probably get mine from Etsy though π
Ooh, and Iβve ordered from Etsy π
Iβve been totally avoiding buying more masks, but it needs to be done. Thanks for the push! Weβre going to Long Beach Island in NJ to βcampβ in little (air conditioned) cabins for 3 nights. Itβs right by the beach. Just need to do SOMETHING to get away.
Oh that sounds SO fun! I am totally in support of little trips like that. It’s necessary for the sanity alone π
