HELLO! Sunday Morning Musings is coming to you on Monday/Tuesday this week because WE ARE ENGAGED!!!!! I still can’t even believe it. The last few days have felt so surreal in the best possible way and we genuinely couldn’t be happier or more excited. I can’t believe I am even writing this (!!!)

Disclaimer: This post was largely written during the week prior to this weekend’s life-altering events. I’ll be writing up a post about all the excitement soon – but until then, sit tight and enjoy reading about a 65 year old loaf of bread and how absolutely normal life was up until Saturday. Eeeeek!

  1. In one of the books I was reading this week, two of the characters were stuck in an elevator with a couple of strangers and I found myself thinking “wait! you can’t do that! how did this happen!” because of quarantine brain. Everything in my head seems “not allowed.” I wonder how long it will take us to re-set from this…
  2. If you guys didn’t know, I’ve become obsessed with key lime pie in the last year. Like fully obsessed to the point where I want it all the time and always order it when it’s on the dessert menu. But this salted key lime pie recipe SUNG to me this week. I am without a doubt making this very, very soon.
  3. Are you sick of hearing about my Twilight series re-read yet? Sorry, to report that we’re only up to New Moon. BUT the book club gals did a virtual New Moon watch party and it was seriously the best. We all started at the same time and texted throughout the movie, and I haven’t had that much fun watching something on tv in forever. It made the whole thing so much more enjoyable. Also, I think as far as the movie goes, I’m Team Jacob?! But still Team Edward for the books. Is that even allowed? Idk but that’s the truth.
  4. I had a wildly motivating conversation with one of my friends and overall creative confidantes (and loyal readers! ty, DP!) this week and here is your reminder to Do. The. Thing. Whatever it is that you’ve got swirling around in your brain for who-knows-how-long, DO IT. And do it for no reason other than that you want to. There will be a full post coming on this in a few weeks, but, here’s your sign from the universe to start now.
  5. A birthday party for a 65-year-old sourdough starter. Now I’ve seen it all! Kidding, I am totally on board for celebrating a sourdough with this many loaves under its belt. Especially considering I couldn’t even get one successful loaf, or a successful starter. Something that will probably haunt me on the reg. Sigh.
  6. We ate out at a restaurant this week! Who ever would have thought that would be groundbreaking information? It felt so weird, but also really good at the same time. But most of all, it made me wish for normal life harder than ever.
  7. Can you guys believe that 4th of July is next Saturday?! I know I keep saying this, but I just feel perpetually stuck in March/April and can’t wrap my head around the fact that it’s now Mid-Summer. This year is going to be over before we know it and that is the craziest thing to me! Are you all stuck in winter/spring too?!
  8. This insomnia illustration really made me laugh.
  9. I need to know – what is your go-to hangover cure? I have always been an ice cold Coke and Excedrin girl, but I love hearing what everyone else relies on when they’ve had a bit too much the night before. This weekend after all the exciting festivities I found myself with a DoorDash order of 4 fountain sodas and a bunch of McDonald’s hash browns. A delivery order has never been more telling!!! πŸ˜…
  10. Lastly, you guys are the absolute BEST. Every week I am more and more blown away by how many of you keep coming back to read this little space. I genuinely don’t even have words to explain how much everyone’s love and support means to me. Your comments on these posts make me the happiest. AND not to mention that your Etsy orders have been the highlight of my year (ok well, they were up until Saturday!!!!) I am seriously OVERWHELMED by how much I love you all. Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Wishing you the happiest Sunday/Monday/Tuesday (whoops!!!) as always. Thank you so very much for being here.

with love, JAK
