1. A big HELLO to all of you guys that are here because of my Facebook and/or Instagram posts this week. Thank you for being here, I’m so happy to have you! To bring you up to speed, this is my weekly Sunday post. I build it all week with random things about my personal life and links to stuff I see and find interesting, important, funny and/or just worth sharing. I hope you love it! And reminder to subscribe for emails if you do – it’s the best way for me to let you know when new things are happening! 🙂
  2. In some mildly exciting news, I am, for the first time since moving to Brooklyn, ahead of schedule for my yearly goodreads reading challenge! After (happily) giving up my 4 hour commute, I had to cut my book goal down by quite a bit and was still frantically reading on December 31st last year. But right now I am TWO full books ahead of schedule! I will give one very small thank-you to quarantine for that.
  3. Champagne always gives me a terrible headache, so breakfast/brunch cocktails have never really been my thing. But these pink lemonade mimosas look and sound so delish that it might be worth the headache. Also pink lemonade in general will have definitely be happening soon!
  4. In a very half-assed attempt to curb the carbs, I’ve been loving scooped-out bagels this week. I have had one a few times before this and honestly just forgot about them. But they are so good, especially when they’re extra toasty. And I don’t even miss the extra bread.
  5. 16 Friends Tested Positive for Coronavirus After One Night Out – this is my nightmare. STILL A PANDEMIC GUYS! Wear your masks, wash your hands and don’t be careless. I know it’s annoying but WE HAVE TO DO IT if we ever want to go back to real life. It ain’t over till it’s over.
  6. Ry and I finally spent a night in Brooklyn this week and I can’t even explain how nice it was. We ordered takeout from one of our favorite restaurants and watched mindless tv on our couch and it was the best. It was slightly normal-feeling. But also felt kind of weird to be home and it be just the two of us?! Normal life seems like a whole lifetime ago.
  7. On the note of non-mindless tv we started When They See Us (ty, KB!) on Netflix this week and it has absolutely destroyed me. We still have one episode left, but if you haven’t watched this 4 part limited series, I highly recommend it. It’s hugely relevant to what’s going on in the world right now, very emotionally charged, and 100% worth the watch.
  8. Uhh did anyone else get emotional watching Cuomo’s final daily COVID briefing? I literally had to swallow a lump in my throat while I was watching it and I’m not even a huge Cuomo fan. I can’t imagine doing something so depressing for 111 days in a row. That man definitely needs a vacation.
  9. VIP blog reader Courtney made this wonderful Spiked Seltzer Showdown bracket so you can find your favorite flavors for this summer (and work on a fun project while doing it!) Here’s the link if you want to download it/print it and play. All I ask is that when you reach your Final Four, come back and let us know the contenders and the winner. Happy sipping!!!
  10. Watch this if you want a real good laugh. I’ll be thinking about this every time I eat a banana for the rest of my life.

I just want to send a big thank you (again!) to all of you guys reading this little space. It means more to me than I could ever tell you!

Wishing you all a happy Sunday, and a wonderful Father’s Day celebrating with your loved ones. AND! A Happy Second Official Day of Summer – you guys, we MADE it!

with love + extra sunshine, jak
