1. Can you believe we’ve made it to ten weeks of these posts?! I can’t. It’s the longest I have stuck with something like this in a WHILE. I hope you guys are enjoying them, because I’m enjoying making them!
  2. Have you heard about Daniel Thorson? The guy who just emerged from a 75 day retreat and posted “Did I miss anything?” to his Twitter? Can you even imagine?
  3. On our weekly drive into Brooklyn this week things were looking so. much. better. The first few trips in were scary and so sad that it was hard to even be there. But this week we walked around a bit and started seeing some semblance of the place we used to live (still do, just not at the moment) and it felt so good. (Snapped ^this^ pic from the car window on the way in – I usually miss the shot because I don’t realize it’s coming up, but I got it this week!)
  4. Is this a waste of my money? Because it seems like a perfectly good use of my money.
  5. Last week I did my first ever overnight hair mask, and it saved my curls. Between the neglect of quarantine + the endless amounts of chlorine, they had been feeling so DRY. Thinking I need to make it a bi-weekly or even weekly routine.
  6. I always love these Look Book articles in NY Mag, but this one really made me smile. Postal workers have been the underrated MVP during this pandemic.
  7. We finally finished Outer Banks this week and of course I am late to the party, but OMG I loved it! I haven’t gotten that invested in a tv show in the longest time. Also: John B is everything. Now the question is, what should we watch next? Taking recommendations!
  8. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this Cinnamon Roll Pound Cake since I saw it. Definitely gonna have to happen, and like, soon…
  9. Getting into the thick of our Twilight re-read mini book club and I need to know – are you Team Edward or Team Jacob? We just finished New Moon and although my allegiance wavered slightly in the middle, I am Team Edward to my very core. I cant help it!
  10. Lastly, this piece by Kim Rhodes at COJ: How I Feel Right Now As a Black Woman. Read it. Let that sink in.

with love, jak
