1. Had the second wave of spring birthdays this week and it was both special and sad. There is nothing worse than not being able to properly celebrate the people you love on their birthdays. But we are making the most of it and finding ways to make this year special in its own shitty way!
  2. I am BACK to WORK! After a month and a half of being temporarily laid off, I’m now temporarily back to work again. Of course after I FINALLY got my unemployment sorted out. Bittersweet, but mostly I’m happy to have something to do, and something to make the days go by a little faster.
  3. Cinco de Mayo falling on Taco Tuesday during quarantine was sad, but also the best thing ever. Just the right pick me up in the middle (?) of the week and the perfect excuse for margaritas. Also – petition for more holidays that include tequila and tacos mid-week?
  4. Have you guys seen this pancake cereal trend? I have never seen something more appealing and I cannot wait to try it!
  5. My dreaded seasonal allergies started this week. Every year I think that I might get away with it and have finally “grown out” of them, but every year around May 4th it hits me like a freight train. Sad to say this year is more of the same. It also hasn’t stopped me from wanting to be outside all day long, which is… not great… but I can’t help myself! I’m my own worst enemy. *Cues LIT*
  6. MY. CAST. IS. OFF! My foot isn’t completely healed, but it’s free and clean and connecting with the outside world again. And for that I am more thankful than you can possibly imagine.
  7. Uhm who’s planning on reading Midnight Sun?! I can’t NOT read it… Twilight from Edward’s perspective? Count me in.
  8. Things that are not okay: the fact that it freakin’ SNOWED on Saturday?!!?! On May 9th. This HAS to be some kind of record… and not a good one. We barely got any snow this year, but in May… it snows. Granted it was just flurries and only for a few minutes but it’s alarming!!! And not welcome at all.
  9. Mixed feelings on Cuomo extending the NY Pause until June 7th… I am OVER being in quarantine just as much as everyone else. But also feeling like a free-for-all in NYC is bound to happen when we’re let out and we DEFINITELY don’t need that. Dreaming of simpler times.
  10. I shared this blog with so many new people this week and I can see on my end that you all have been visiting since then. I just wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for your support and encouragement!!! There is nothing more rewarding about this than seeing that there have been 30+ new visits overnight. I love you all SO MUCH!

And of course, Happy Mother’s Day to all my Mama readers – especially my own. Love you more than I can say. xo
