sunday morning musings (006)
- This Office Reunion Zoom Wedding episode of #SGN absolutely got me. I cried basically the entire 16 minutes watching it, and that is not an exaggeration.
- I am cracking up over this personalized Guess Who game board. The person who thought of this is a genius!
- Hanging out with my friends in their backyards/front lawns has been the best. Yes it’s sad and strange and very different, but it’s also the perfect fix for the covid blues. See your friends (from a distance!!!) It will help.
- Have you guys heard of this “ant colony Facebook group…” it’s “news” to me and I simply cannot believe that things like this exist in the world. And that 2 million people are into it?! I mean, we’re all bored, but are we that bored?
- Quarantine Book Club (QBC) has been one of the highlights of my weeks these last few months. I’ve never done a book club, but something about reading the same book as a bunch of people at the same time and then spending an hour+ complaining about it on zoom every other week has been a real thrill.
- Sharing this with you guys because I love you… but my favorite ice cream place in Brooklyn closed for good in October. Since being in quarantine, the owner has been posting one of her recipes each week on her blog. This is the week that I tackle my all time favorite, Cobbler Hill. If you’ve ever wanted to make ice cream from scratch, these are the recipes to try – I promise you won’t be disappointed.
- It’s finally feeling like summer and I could not be happier! Hoping that the warm weather and the pool being ready makes quarantine and the stay at home order a little more bearable. I cannot even believe that next weekend is Memorial Day weekend already… HOW!?
- This is how time works now. I really laughed reading this because it is just too damn true.
- Yesterday we spent the entire day outside. Swimming in the pool, eating ice pops and reading. We had a neighborhood hangout on our front lawn a la 2002, lemon drop martinis for happy hour and lobster for dinner and it almost felt like a normal summer day. Fresh air can’t cure everything, but it sure does help a lot.
- LASTLY!!! My “SUBSCRIBE” function is finally working! It took me longer than I’d like to admit to figure it out – let’s just say I have a whole new appreciation for newsletters. But, if you are interested in getting emails each time a new post goes live on this blog, please subscribe!! There’s a little box to drop your name and email on the righthand side of the homepage. And I pinky promise not to spam you.
with love, JAK
