sunday morning musings (004)
- Thought this post on COJ was the sweetest. Since I’ve been Quarantining with my family and not in Brooklyn, I can’t stop thinking about how excited I am to FINALLY hang stuff on the walls when we eventually get back to our apartment. I would love to use some of these ideas – especially mixing artwork with personal photos!
- One of my favorite food bloggers came out with a new cookbook this week and I pre-ordered it months ago. Her previous book is my absolute favorite, so I have been super excited about this one! It showed up on Thursday and it made my whole week. It’s the little things, am I right?!
- Finally trying to reel it in this week and not snack all day long. Before this whole pandemic happened I was doing so well with eating healthy, but now that’s been out the window. And with my trusty cast, pretty much all activity is out of the question. Cutting the incessant snacks is the best I can do right now.
- Speaking of (lol) I made the easiest, most delicious blueberry coffee cake this week. I accidentally added a quart of blueberries to our Costco order last week and knew I needed to bake something with lots of blueberries in it – this was just the thing. Highly recommend!
- THANK YOU TO ALL MY NURSES (and doctors and other essential healthcare workers.) But mostly to my nurses, you guys are amazing and I am proud to know each and every one of you. Sending LOVE and HUGS!
- Really loved this post of a Facebook group sharing the view from their window from all around the world. Some of them are seriously mind-blowing. Makes me wonder why I live in NY!
- Mom and I went to the nursery to get some more plants for the yard and it totally just solidified that I’m gonna be a crazy plant lady. I wanted to buy every single plant/flower they had! It’s a blessing that I have to (eventually) go home to my 500 square foot apartment.
- I have been in the biggest cocktail/happy hour rut. Every time 5:00 rolls around nothing sounds good! I’m sick of spiked seltzers, bored of vodka and can only do wine when I’m really in the mood for it. But this week I made myself the most delicious happy hour cocktail. I’ll be sharing a post on it soon!
- Saturday morning we spent staining our entire deck – the whole family. It was a disaster of the finest sort while it was happening, but thankfully turned out looking good. A lesson: don’t ask me to carefully paint anything, ever.
- Welcoming my first sunburn of the year this week – and I’m so okay with it because it means the SUN is finally OUT!
Happy Sunday! We made it through another one.
with love, JAK
